The European Championships are flying past, and the group stage is almost over. We head in to the last few games with the tournament wide open, thanks to the expanded format. Sides now face a last chance to book a place in the next round, and they’ll want to finish as high as possible in the group. So far, the competition has given us plenty of goals and we think these games will produce plenty more.
We are expecting lots of attacking football in these last few games with many sides being forced to attack as they search for the win. Just as Northern Ireland came out firing against Ukraine, teams will have to push if they’re to get through. We should see plenty of goals in these games, and with that in mind we’ve picked out our both teams to score tips for the upcoming international matches.
Sunday 19th June 2016
- Mexico v Chile (19/20 with Betfair) – This Chile side just conceded twice against Panama. They now face a Mexican outfit who breezed through their group. These two nations play very open games, and we think both of them will grab themselves a goal (at least!) here.
- Romania v Albania (4/5 with Coral) – Albania have surprised many with two solid displays so far. Their opponents Romania have been more adventurous than expected, and that should continue here. Both Romania’s games have seen BTTS come in, and this should be no different.
- Switzerland v France (21/20 with Betfair) – France once again looked weak at the back against Albania, and this Swiss team should be able to take advantage. The French have plenty of goals in their team, but they give away too many chances. They’ve not been punished for that yet, but we’re backing that to change here. Both teams to score is top value the right side of evens.
Monday 20th June 2016
- Russia v Wales (19/20 with Betfair) – Russia can’t afford anything less than a win here if they’re to go through. The Welsh need a point, but they can’t rely on a clean sheet. The Welsh defence has been unusually open of late, and we’re backing them to concede again in this clash.
- Slovakia v England (evens with Coral) – England have made several big defensive mistakes already in this tournament, and now they’re up against a talented Slovakian side. They should have a field day against the Three Lions’ back line, and we can’t see Joe Hart keeping a first clean sheet in this one.
Tuesday 21st June 2016
- Northern Ireland v Germany (6/5 with Sky Bet) – Northern Ireland come into this game on a massive high, and we can see that continuing. Their set piece play could be enough to get a goal against a sloppy German side, and BTTS is very well priced in this clash.
- Poland v Ukraine (10/11 with Sky Bet) – Ukraine are out of the tournament, which will hopefully give them the needed push to attack here. They’ve nothing to fear at this point, and they should aim to go out on a high against Poland. The Poles have plenty of attacking talent, but we see their defence being tested here and both teams to score looks a solid bet at the odds.
