The European Championship has thrown up plenty of entertaining games in the first ‘matchday’, and we’re hopeful that will carry on into the second. We’ve yet to see a 0-0 after every side has played their opener, and that’s certainly a run we’re expecting to see continue. We’re always hoping for goals, especially when we’ve got both teams to score bets on the games.
We’ve cast our eyes over the last few games in the second round of matches this weekend, and we’ve picked out our BTTS bets. We’ve included a few Copa America clashes too, with that competition now at the quarter-final stage. This market tends to give good odds for international fixtures, and that seems to be the case again here. Hopefully we can get a few well priced winners in the upcoming matches.
Friday 17th June 2016
- USA v Ecuador (10/11 with Coral) – The United States haven’t been the most convincing at the back so far, and against an in-form Ecuador we’re backing them to struggle. Both sides racked up goals in the group stage, and we’re predicting that will continue here.
- Italy v Sweden (6/5 with Betfair) – The Swedes should be able to put up much more fight against Italy than Belgium did. Having seen how the Italians are set up at the back, we’re backing Sweden to find a way around them, especially with Zlatan Ibrahimovic up front, while Italy look dangerous enough to find at least one goal themselves.
- Spain v Turkey (23/20 with Coral) – Spain haven’t been entirely convincing of late, and this Turkey side have some technically gifted players. The Spanish may have won 1-0 in their opening match, but they should expect a much tougher challenge in Nice. The Turks will be desperate for a result, after their opening game defeat.
Saturday 18th June 2016
- Peru v Colombia (29/20 with Betfair) – The Colombians have been a very entertaining side to watch at the Copa, and we’re backing that to continue. Peru showed their talents when they dumped out Brazil, and they’re more than capable of getting themselves on the scoresheet here.
- Belgium v Republic of Ireland (10/11 with Betfair) – After a 1-1 draw in their opener, we’re backing BTTS in the Republic of Ireland’s second clash. They’ll be confident of scoring against this Belgian side, but we can’t see their backline holding up against Eden Hazard and co like Italy’s did.
- Iceland v Hungary (10/11 with Sky Bet) – These two both caused early shocks in this group, and they did it by playing neat, attacking football. That should make this clash an open one, and we’re backing each side to come out of it with a goal.
- Portugal v Austria (21/20 with Betfair) – These two both put in awful defensive displays in their opening matches, and that should make this a wide open clash. Both sides need a result, and they should both push for a win. We can’t see them holding back, so we’re backing both sides to score.
