World Cup qualifying has already begun in many places around the world but Sunday sees the first matches played in UEFA qualifying. The protracted campaign is sure to provide a number of twists and turns and we will be there throughout providing you with a whole host of accumulators like the three below, which will hopefully get you off to a profitable start.
Easy Winner – 6/5 (BetVictor)
- Poland to beat Kazakhstan (1/2) – Poland will have to put up with pretty uncomfortable surroundings when they play Kazakhstan on Sunday but they’ve got enough quality in their ranks to come away with all three points.
- Wales to beat Moldova (2/9) – This is a great first match for Chris Coleman and his Wales team. It is going to be tough for Wales to build on their heroics at the European Championships but they’ve got an opening game which they really should be winning without too much trouble.
- Spain/Spain in half time/full time against Liechtenstein (1/5) – There could hardly be an easier game for Spain to kick-off their World Cup campaign. Julen Lopetegui will be delighted with the chance to start his time in charge with an easy win, which is exactly what everybody is expecting. Spain should get off to a fast start and then coast home.
Medium Risk – 6/1 (Sky Bet)
- Ukraine to beat Iceland (5/6) – Ukraine are a good football team who didn’t exactly play to their level at the Euros. It would not be unfair to say that the exact opposite is true of Iceland. The new levels of expectation around Iceland will be very tough for them to live up to.
- Croatia to beat Turkey (4/7) – A stunning Luka Modric goal was enough for Croatia to beat Turkey at the Euros and they are the odds on favourites to record the same result on Monday. Turkey are looking weak at the moment and Croatia should be able to take full advantage.
- Switzerland to beat Portugal (7/5) – Switzerland were one of the most disappointing sides at the Euros given that they were many people’s dark horses. They’ve got a great chance to put that disappointment behind them by beating the European champions at home on Tuesday night.
Long Shot – 88/1 (Bet365)
- Raheem Sterling to score against Slovakia (9/2) – Sterling has bounced back incredibly quickly from his poor performances for England at the Euros and is playing well enough to be considered a key player for Sam Allardyce. The Manchester City forward can complete his rehabilitation in the eyes of England fans by scoring away to Slovakia.
- Northern Ireland to beat Czech Republic (15/4) – Northern Ireland will have to be at their very best throughout qualification to book a place in Russia but if they defend well, they can make the most of their chances to record a huge first win against the Czech Republic.
- Sweden to beat the Netherlands (12/5) – There is a tremendous amount of pressure on the shoulders of the Netherlands players given their inability to qualify for Euro 2016. That may prove to be too much for them in their first game against Sweden.
