The Premier League is back. The official launch took place on Wednesday and the first round of fixtures begins on early on Saturday afternoon. There are high quality games taking place all weekend and you know what that means, loads of betting opportunities. So, have a read through our selection of three accas for the return of the Premier League.
Easy Winner – evens (BetVictor)
- Manchester City to beat Sunderland (1/4) – What a baptism of fire this is for David Moyes. The new Sunderland manager is up against Pep Guardiola and his new look Manchester City side and his team will do well to avoid losing by a hatful at the Etihad.
- Tottenham to score against Everton (3/10) – Spurs have a big season ahead. Can they replicate last season’s form or will they be overtaken by other clubs around them? They’ve also got a tricky opening fixture but one in which they should at least be able to find the net.
- Over 1.5 goals in Chelsea v West Ham (2/7) – Chelsea would love to start their season off with a derby win at home against West Ham. They’re going to have to work hard for it though as there should be plenty of goals on Monday night.
Medium Risk – 5/1 (Sky Bet)
- Leicester to beat Hull (evens) – Evens about the Premier League champions beating a team who scraped promotion via the playoffs and whose manager has just left? That looks like a price not to miss out on.
- Under 2.5 goals in Crystal Palace v West Brom (8/15) – Crystal Palace and West Brom were two of the poorest teams in front of goal last season. Neither team will quite be at full fitness so nobody will be expecting a game full of goals at Selhurst Park.
- Both teams to score in Middlesbrough v Stoke (evens) – This looks an intriguing match. Middlesbrough are probably the most prepared team of the three promoted sides but Stoke are an always improving side. There shouldn’t be too much in the game no matter the result and there will be chances for both sides.
Long Shot – 90/1 (Bet365)
- Manchester United to beat Bournemouth and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to score first (4/1) – Zlatan Ibrahimovic was bought by Manchester United as much for his will to win as his technical abilities. Both sides of his game should be in evidence at Dean Court where he can follow up his Community Shield goal with another as United get off to a solid start.
- Arsenal and Liverpool to draw (23/10) – There is a good chance that Arsenal and Liverpool will be scrapping it out for fourth spot come the end of the season. That makes their opening game an important one but also one in which the spoils may well be shared.
- Burnley to beat Swansea and both teams to score (9/2) – Burnley have a very good chance to claim three points at the first time of asking when they take on Swansea at home. The Clarets may have to score more than once but that is well within their ability.
