The final round of Champions League qualifying gets underway this week and two outfits from these shores, Manchester City and Celtic, will be looking to make the group stages once again.
Elsewhere, there is plenty of action from the Europa League where qualification is taking place and we have picked out seven great European both teams to score tips for you.
Tuesday 16th August 2016
- Dinamo Zagreb v Red Bull Salzburg (5/6 with Bet365) – Both of these sides have produced some great young players of late and this could be an exciting match as two dynamic, vibrant sides go head to head. Salzburg scored plenty in last year’s European campaign, but Dinamo are a good proposition at home.
- Young Boys v Borussia Monchengladbach (8/15 with Betfred) – Andre Schuberts’s Borussia Monchengladbach are always good value to watch thanks to their expansive style of play and they will more than likely grab an away goal in this match. However, their desire to press forwards can land tem into trouble.
Wednesday 17th August 2016
- Dundalk v Legia Warsaw (Evens with Betfair) – Legia Warsaw are the big favourites for this tie and you would expect them to score against a side who are just happy to have made it this far. However Dundalk are made of stern stuff and given the way they performed against BATE Borisov in the last round, it wouldn’t surprise us to see them nick a goal.
- FC Porto v AS Roma (10/11 with Coral) – Roma travel to Portugal on Wednesday to face an FC Porto side who haven’t been too impressive in the last few Champions League campaigns. However, they do boast some exciting players and both keepers are going to be kept busy in this match at the Estadio da Dragao.
Thursday 18th August 2016
- Austria Vienna v Rosenborg (8/11 with Bet365) – The lesser lights of Viennese football take centre stage on Thursday as they host Rosenborg in the Europa League. The home side have seen a number of their matches finish without a clean sheet and we think that it could be the same again this week.
- Istanbul Basaksehir v Shakhtar Donetsk (5/6 with Bet365) – Shakhtar Donetsk are usually a Champions League side but given the problems they are facing at the moment they could perhaps be forgiven for not performing to their usual standards. They should leave Turkey with an away goal, but given their recent defensive record of late we fancy IB to grab a goal.
- Fenerbahce v Grasshoppers (4/5 with Bet365) – Staying in Istanbul where Fenerbahce entertain Grasshoppers Zurich in what should be an entertaining matchup. The Turkish outfit saw both of their Champions League qualifying matches against Monaco end without a clean sheet. Fener lost that tie 4-3 on aggregate and they will be out for revenge in this one, but Grasshoppers to have some handy players with BTTS looking good here.
